Stocks or shares in listed companies have made people millionaires in the 21st century. Many people invested in stocks mainly for capital appreciation over the long term. In fact, stocks has shown to outperformed other asset classes over the years. I will advise that you have to learn how to appreciate share ownership as an important wealth builder. Of course, there will always be risk in investing and thus you will have to learn how to value a stock correctly to make huge profits.
Investment in stocks can be rewarding as you are taking part in capitalism which drives the economies of the world. Imagine owning part of a company that you can identify with in the real world and you can cheer when these companies make money as they will translate to growth in your investment capital over the years. There are many fields of thoughts to value a stock correctly and you will have to study extensively to gain knowledge. I will cover more details in my other articles.
When you invest in stocks, you can derive passive income in the form of dividend declared by the company when they make money. The most powerful thing is that the dividends can build up over the years to give you substantial returns on top of your capital gains alone from the selling of shares.
